PISTONS, RINGS, CONNECTING RODS, AND BEARINGS
REPLACEMENT (CONT)
NOTE
Rings are packaged in order in
which they are to be installed.
Do not remove a ring until
ready to install.
6.
INSTALL four new RINGS (7, 8, 9, and 10)
on piston (4) starting at the bottom, with
openings 180 degrees apart.
7.
AFTER rings are installed, CHECK ring GAP
and VERTICAL clearance with following
table.  If GAP is NOT WITHIN tolerance,
REPLACE with new set.
NOTE
Make sure tang snaps into slot
of connecting rod.
8.
INSTALL new upper connecting rod bearing
HALF (11).
NOTE
Make sure tang snaps into slot
of connecting rod.
9.
INSTALL new lower connecting rod bearing
HALF (12).
