Remove link pin (18) from pivot and
spindle assembly (6) using king pin
extractor (13) and slide hammer (14).

Remove pivot and spindle assembly (6)
from axle housing (19) with aid of
assistant.
Place
pivot
and
spindle
assembly on clean work surface.
NOTE
Differential oil may drain from axle
housing.

Remove axle shaft (20) from axle housing
(19).
NOTE
Do step (16) only if link collars fail
inspection.

Remove
link
collars
(21)
from
axle
housing (19) using puller.

Disassembly
WARNING
Wear eye protection and use care
when
removing
retaining
rings.
Retaining rings are under spring
tension and can act as projectiles
when released causing severe eye
injury.
(1)
Remove seal (1), retaining ring (2), and
bearing (3) from axle housing (4). Discard
seal.
