ORGANIZATIONAL MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
SECTION I PREPARATION FOR USE, STORAGE, AND SHIPMENT
a. Check electrolyte level in the battery (7). If
electrolyte level is low, add distilled water as required.
Electrolyte should be approximately 3/8 inch above the

b. Check the battery charge. Recharge if necessary.
a. Check for broken or cracked glass in windows,
lights, and gages.
b. Check for loose, broken, or missing belts.
Check for negative ground when connecting
battery. (Refer to table 1-1.)
c. Check radiator for damage. Inspect all water lines
for breaks, cracks, and loose connections.
c. Connect battery cables and tighten securely.
d. Check for oil leaks from brake system, hydraulic
steering system, crankcase, and external oil lines.

e. Check for restricted or damaged lines in the brake
and steering system. Check for loose connections.
b. Check oil level and add oil (item 3, table 1-3) if
necessary. Refer to Lubrication Chart.
f . Check electrical wiring for breaks, stripped
insulation, and loose or damaged connections,
c. Replace air cleaner and tighten securely.
g. Check for components which may have been lost or
damaged in shipment.
If brake pedal has more than 3/4 distance
travel from the pedal to the floor, brakes
