Clean valve lifters and valve
lifter bores in the cylinder
block with an approved cleaning
solvent (See page 2-29). Dry
thoroughly using  low pressure air
(30 psi or less).
c. Inspection
(1) Refer to Table 3-6 for wear
limits and specifications
applicable to valve lifters.
If diameter of valve lifter is
not within the specified limits,
replace the valve lifter.
(2) Refer to Table 3-6 for valve
lifter bore specifications. If
valve lifter bore in cylinder
block is not within the limits
specified, the engine must be
rebuilt.
