3-19. CONNECTING ROD BEARINGS - REPLACE (Cont'd)
(6) Apply clean engine oil on the
threads of the connecting rod
capscrews (3) and seat surfaces
of the nuts (1).
CAUTION
Ensure that the connecting rod
caps are installed next to the
respective number marked on
the side of the connecting
rod.
(7) Install the connecting rod caps
(2) and nuts (1). Use a wrench to
tighten the nuts to a torque of
30--3 lb. ft.

CAUTION
Do not use an impact wrench
when tightening the nuts an
additional 90 degrees.
