(1) Remove bolts (1, fig. 6-45) that secure the
c a g e (2) to the No. 1 carrier.

and lift the input shaft from the transmission (fig.
(3) Install the input shaft in the reverse order
of removal.
( 4 ) Tighten the bearing cage to No. 1 carrier
retaining bolts (1) to the torque value given in table
1-2.
