Allow engine to cool before performing troubleshooting maintenance. If necessary use insulated pads
and gloves. Hot engine components will burn and cause injury to personnel.
VISUAL INSPECTION
(1) Remove eight screws, washers,
lockwashers and left side noise
panel.
Discard lockwashers.
(2) Remove 14 screws, six air box
covers and gaskets. Discard gaskets.
(3) Check for oil leakage past cylinder
ports or piston rings.
(a) If oil is leaking past cylinder
ports or piston rings, perform Step
(4) and (5) below and replace
engine (Para 3-4).
(b) If oil is not leaking past cylinder
ports or piston rings, perform
Step (4) and (5) below and go to
Step 8 of this Fault.
(4) Turn OFF ENGINE switch.
(5) Install six gaskets and air box
covers with 14 screws.
