TM  9-2320-356-BD Section    III. TRANSMISSION  ANTENNAS 15-7. GENERAL Antennas    for    transmitting    have    properties    different    from    receiving-only    antennas. Any   9-foot   antenna   (e.g.,   CB   antenna)   can   be   adapted   for   use. Frequency   sensitive   lengths   and   resistances   must   be   adjusted   using   exact   length wires   (elements)   or   a   matching   unit. Antenna    resistance    also    affects    the    direction of   transmission   and   the   loading   of   the   transmitter   final   stages. Resistance   requirements   can   be   met   by   connecting   lower   resistance   value   resistors, end-to-end   (in   series), until   the   desired   resistance   value   is   obtained. 2 0 0     O H M S     + 2 0 0    O H M S    + 200   OHMS   =   600   OHMS Wattage   requirements   can   be   met   by   connecting   lower   wattage   resistors   side-by-side (in   parallel   )   until   the   desired   wattage   is   obtained. 1800 OHMS =  600  OHMS 15-6
