Conditions Which Generate This Code:

The ECM detects one of the following items after

attempting to operate the injector:

An open circuit exists in the wiring for the No. 3

An open circuit exists in the wiring for the No. 4

cylinder injector solenoid.

An internal open circuit exists in the No. 3 cylinder

An internal open circuit exists in the No. 4 cylinder

injector solenoid.

A short circuit to ground on the injector solenoid

for the No. 3 cylinder exists. The circuit is

for the No. 4 cylinder exists. The circuit is

grounded to the engine.

A short circuit in the injector solenoid for the No.

3 cylinder exists.

If the cause of the diagnostic code is a short circuit

or an open circuit in the injector common line, a

fault will be active for both cylinders because of the

shared common wiring for the injectors.
