WATER FILTER MAINTENANCE - CONTINUED

REMOVAL
1.
Close both valves.
2.
Using a strap wrench, unscrew and remove water filter (2) from filter head (1).
INSTALLATION
1.
Apply thin film of lubricating oil to water filter gasket sealing surface.
2.
Install new filter element (2) and hand tighten until element touches filter head (1).
3.
Tighten additional 1/2 to 3/4 turn.
4.
Open both valves.
CHECKING FOR LEAKS
1.
Start engine (TM 9-2320-303-10).
2.
Visually check water filter (2) for leaks.
