DRAINING/REPLENISHING OIL

Remove vent plug (2) and washer (3) from bypass filter (8). Allow sufficient time for oil to drain from bypass filter to

Place drain pan under drain plug (31).

Remove drain plug (31). Allow all oil to drain.
4.
Inspect magnet for foreign particles and wipe clean.
5.
Install drain plug (31) and tighten.
6.
Remove filler cap (1).
7.
Pour oil thru filler cap (1) opening.
8.
Install filler cap (1).
PRIMARY FILTER REPLACEMENT
1.
Place drain pan under filter (30).
2.
Remove filter (30) from adapter (29).
3.
Pour oil from filter (30) into drain pan. Discard filter.
4.
Inspect adapter (29) for cracks, nicks, and damaged threads. If adapter is defective, refer to TM 9-2815-225-34&P.
5.
Lightly coat new filter seal with clean lubricating oil.
