PISTON, CONNECTING ROD, AND CONNECTING ROD BEARING MAINTENANCE (Con’t).

Position connecting rod bearing cap (5) with assembled lower sleeve bearing half (4) in place on crankshaft journal (3)
and connecting rod (9) and assembled upper sleeve bearing half (8).
5.
Coat threads of two bolts (6) with engine oil. Install bolts and washers (7) in connecting rod bearing cap (5) and
connecting rod (9). Torque bolts to 65 lb.-ft. (88 N•m).
FOLLOW-ON TASKS:
•
Install engine oil pan (see paragraph 3-20).
•
Install cylinder head (see paragraph 3-6).
•
Install engine assembly (see paragraph 3-3).
