Look for breaks, bends, and cracks.

Look for damaged threads.
REPAIR

All threaded parts
If threads are damaged, using screw
except hardware
threading set, restore threads.
ASSEMBLY
24.
Rod (1)
Nut (2) and
a. Place rod (1) in machinist's vise with
yoke or clevis (3)
vise jaw caps.
b. Screw on until same number of exposed
threads are showing on rod (11) and
relative position of yoke or clevis (3)
is same as noted during disassembly.

Rod (1) and
Nut (2)
a. Using 9/16-inch open-end and 0 to
yoke or clevis (3)
1.322-inch adjustable wrenches,
tighten until seated against yoke or
clevis (3).
b. Take rod (1) out of machinist's vise
with vise jaw caps.

Yoke or clevis (3)
Bellcrank (4)
Place in position.

Yoke or clevis (3)
Pin (5)
Slide in.
and bellcrank (4)

Pin (5) and
New cotter pin (6)
a. Push in.
yoke or clevis (3)
b. Using slip-joint pliers, bend ends
back.

a. Place rod end (9) in machinist's vise
yoke or clevis (9)
with vise jaw caps.
