S e c t i o n VII. RADIO INTERFERENCE SUPPRESSION
Suppression
Essentially, suppression is attained by providing.
a low resistance path to ground for stray currents.
The methods used include shielding the ignition
and high-frequency wires, grounding the frame
with bonding straps, and using capacitors and
resistors.
a. Primary Suppression Components. The
primary suppression components are those whose
primary function is to suppress radio interference.
These components are described and located in
b. Secondary Suppression Components. These
components have radio interference suppression
functions which are incidental or secondary to
their primary functions.
Refer to figure 4-2 for details on replacement of
primary suppression components.
