Ring gear weighs approximately 62 lb
(28 kg). Keep out from under ring
gear. Failure to comply may result in
serious injury or death to personnel.
(54) Place hand on planetary carrier (75) to
keep in place. Remove ring gear (71)
from planetary carriers (75 and 76).
(55) Remove planetary carrier (75) and sun
gear (77) from planetary carrier (76).
WARNlNG
Wear eye protection and use care
when removing retaining rings.
Retaining rings are under spring
tension and can act as projectiles
when released causing severe eye
injury.
(56) Remove retaining ring (78) from sun gear
(77). Discard retaining ring.
(57) Remove sun gear (77) from planetary
carrier (75).
(58) Remove retaining ring (79) from sun gear
(77). Discard retaining ring.
(59) Remove screw (80), lockwasher (81), and
retainer plate (82) from planetary carrier
(76) and input shaft (27).
Discard
lockwasher.
