22-3. TRANSMISSION TO TRANSMISSION STAND INSTALLATION/REMOVAL (CONT)

Removal

WARNING

Transmission weighs approximately

1125 lb (510 kg). Use caution when

lifting transmission.

Failure to

comply may result in serious injury

or death to personnel.

(1)

Install lifting device on transmission (1).

(2)

Remove four locknuts (2) and screws (3)

from holding fixture (4) and transmission

(1) while assistant supports transmission

with lifting device.

(3)

Place transmission (1) on hard, level

surface and remove lifting device.

(4)

Remove four screws (5) and holding

fixture (4) from engine stand (6).

(5)

Install four new lockwashers (7) and

screws (8) in transmission (1) and torque

converter housing (9). Torque to 67-80

lb-ft (91-108 N m).
