Type of Manual.  Direct Support and General Support Maintenance Instructions, TM 9-2320-360-34. b. Model Number and Equipment Name.  Truck, Tractor, M1070, 8 X 8, Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET). c. Purpose of Equipment.    The  HET  Tractor  and  the  M1000  Trailer  form  the  Heavy  Equipment  Transport  System (HETS).    HETS  will  be  used  to  load,  unload,  and  transport  the  M1  Series  Main  Battle  Tank  (MBT)  during  administrative and tactical operations. 1-2.  MAINTENANCE FORMS, RECORDS, AND REPORTS Department of the Army forms and procedures used for equipment maintenance will be those prescribed by DA Pam 738- 750, The Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS). 1-3.  DESTRUCTION OF ARMY MATERIEL TO PREVENT ENEMY USE Command   decision,   according   to   tactical   situation,   will   determine   when   the   destruction   of   the   HET   Tractor   will   be accomplished.  A destruction plan will be prepared by the using organization unless one has been prepared by a higher authority.    For  general  destruction  procedures  for  this  equipment,  refer  to  TM  750-244-6,  Procedures  for  Destruction  of Tank-Automotive Equipment to Prevent Enemy Use (U.S. Army Tank-Automotive Command). 1-1
