TM9-2320-360-20-3 Section  4 TROUBLESHOOTING   CHARTS D.  CHART  -7  -  NO  DATA  TO  DDR NOTE  - This chart is only to be used if: 1)  All  basic  mechanical  checks  and  physical  inspections  have  been  performed  with  no  problem  found,  and 2) Diagnosis of DDEC-III was started at step START-1, pg H-25 and you have now been referred here. STEP/SEQUENCE C  7-1 Reed  Codes  on  the “Check   Engine”   Light l Unplug   DDR. l Ignition  on.  Engine  not  running. l Depress  and  hold diagnostic  request  switch. l Read  codes  flashing  out  on “Check  Engine”  light. C  7-2 Check    Diagnostic Request   Circuit l Ignition   on. l Plug  in  DDR. l Select  VIEW  CALIBRATION. l Select  ECM  INS/OUTS to determine  port  assigned  to “Diagnostic  Request  (i.e.,  G1 -  #528) l Go  to  SWITCH  LIGHT  STATS. l Depress  and  hold  diagnostic request   switch. l Read  status  of  diagnostic request. C  7-3 Check  ECM Connectors l Check  terminals  at  vehicle harness  and  5-way  power harness  connectors  (both  ECM and  harness  side)  for  damage; bent,  corroded,  and  unseated  pins or  sockets. RESULT WHAT  TO  DO  NEXT Flashes out codes. Go to C 7-4 (NOTE: if you wish to bypass  diagnosis  of  a  potential data line of DDR problem for now, go to CEL-3, page H-35). Does  not  flash Go   to   C   7-2. out  codes. Switch  reads  off. The  diagnostic  request  circuit (#528) is open or ground is poor or  open.  Repair  open  wire  or bad  ground.  Then  go  to  C7-30. Switch  reads  on. Go  to  C  7-3. Terminals and   connectors are okay. Replace  ECM  (para  7-29.1). Then  go  to  C7-30. Problem  found. Repair terminals/connectors (para 7-77). Then go to C7-30. H-79
