Note “Check Engine”
Light
Turn ignition on while at the same
time observing the “Check
Engine” light.
CEL-2
Read Codes
Turn ignition on.
Depress and hold the diagnostic
request switch.
CEL-3
Follow Codes
Note and record code(s).
RESULT
WHAT TO DO NEXT
Light comes on
and stays on.
Go to CEL-2.
Light comes on for up to
Go to CEL-2.
5 seconds, then goes out.
Light is off.
