TM   9-2320-356-BD CHAPTER 8 ELECTRICAL  SYSTEM BDAR  FIXES  SHALL  BE  USED  ONLY  IN  COMBAT AT  THE  DISCRETION  OF  THE  COMMANDER AND  SHALL  BE  REPAIRED  BY  STANDARD  MAINTENANCE  PROCEDURES AS  SOON  AS  PRACTICABLE  AFTER  THE  MISSION  IS  COMPLETED. Section   I.   GENERAL 8-1. GENERAL Electrical   systems   on   tactical   vehicles   are   12-   and   24-volt,   negative   ground, direct   current   (dc)   systems. Electrical   current   storage   for   starting   and   standby circuits   is   provided   by   batteries. The   batteries   are   connected   in   a series-parallel   configuration   to   provide   12   and   24   V   dc.   All   electrical   power   to circuits   can   be   turned   off   by   a   main   power   switch.
