BATTERY BOX MAINTENANCE - CONTINUED

CLEANING
1.
Using detergent and water, clean accumulated dirt, rust, and corrosion from inside battery box.
2.
Remove any corrosion with a wire brush, as required.
3.
Allow battery box to dry.
PAINTING
Prime and paint bare metal surfaces of inside of battery box (TM 43-0139).
INSTALLATION
1.
Place two pads (4 and 5) inside battery box (1).
NOTE
Perform step 2 to install each of three grip steps to battery box and battery box covers.
2.
Install grip step (3) to battery box covers and battery box (1) with four screws (2).

Install capacitor and capacitor start relay (WP 0119 00).
4.
Install batteries (WP 0114 00).
