Look for cracks, breaks, or abnormal
bends.

Look for torn or missing rubber cover.

Look for damaged threads.

restoring file, restore threads.

Screw on to position noted during removal.

Put in place.

Screw on cap by metal base to keep from tearing rubber cover.
