a. Using 9/16-inch, 3/8-inch drive socket
adjusting strap (1)
lockwasher (4),
and ratchet handle, unscrew and take

b. Get rid of lockwasher (4).

Take off.

a. Using 9/16-inch, 3/8-inch drive socket

and ratchet handle, unscrew and take
out.
b. Get rid of lockwasher (9).

engine block (10)

and ratchet handle, unscrew and take

out.
b. Get rid of lockwashers (13).

a. Take off.
and stud (7)
and gasket (14)
b. Get rid of gasket (14).
CAUTION
Do not remove stud unless inspection shows need for replacement.
Stud may be damaged during
removal.

Using stud remover and setter and 1/2-inch
drive ratchet handle, unscrew and take out.
DISASSEMBLY
15. Water pump (2)
Elbow (15)
a. Secure pump (2) in machinist's vise.
b. Noting position for assembly, using
9/16-inch open-end wrench, un-
screw and take out.

Pipe plug (16)
a. Using 9/16-inch open-end wrench, un-
screw and take out.
b. Take pump (2) out of machinist's vise.
