CHART -2 - ENGINE CRANKS BUT WILL NOT START NOTE:  This  chart  is  only  to  be  used  if: 1) All  basic  mechanical  checks  and  physical  inspections  have  been  performed  with  no  problem  found,  and 2) Diagnosis of DDEC-III was started at step START-1, pg H-25 and you have now been referred here. STEP/SEQUENCE RESULT C 2-1 Observe   “Check   Engine” Light   Status Turn  ignition  on  while  observing the  “Check  Engine”  light. C  2-2 Read  Active  Codes  Using DDR l Plug DDR into the DDL connector. l Read  active  codes  by  selecting (ACTIVE CODES) on the DDR. C 2 - 3 Check  if  Out  of  Fuel l Check  fuel  supply. “Check   Engine” light comes on for up to 5  seconds,  then  goes  out. “Check   Engine” light  does  not  come on at all. “Check   Engine” light  comes  on  goes  off and  comes  back  on  or stays on. Active  codes  on  DDR No  codes. Display read “NO DATA BEING  RECEIVED  FROM SYSTEM  or  DDEC SYSTEM   NOT RESPONDING” or a blank  or  random  display. Fuel  supply  okay No fuel. WHAT  TO  DO  NEXT Go  to  C  2-3. Go      to   C   2-l7. Go  to  C  2 - 2. Follow  appropriate  diagnostic charts  for  code(s)  received. (See  Table  of  Contents  on page ii) Go  to  C  5-1. Go to START-6, page H-29. Go  to  C  2-4. Refuel vehicle. May have to prime system (TM 9-2320-360-10). Then go to C 2-30. H-43
