TM9-2320-360-20-3 Section 4 TROUBLESHOOTING CHARTS E.   FLASHCODE: 14 J1587   CODE: P110 3  -  COOLANT  TEMPERATURE  CIRCUIT  FAILED  HIGH  (VOLTAGE  HIGH) (BELOW) OR: P175 3 - OIL TEMPERATURE ClRCUIT FAlLED HIGH (VOLTAGE HIGH) (BELOW) NOTE - This chart is only to be used if: 1)  All  basic  mechanical  checks  and  physical  inspections  have  been  performed  with  no  problem  found,  and 2) Diagnosis of DDEC-III was started at step START-1, pg H-25 and you have now been referred here. STEP/SEQUENCE 14-1  Code  Check l Turn  ignition  on. l Plug in DDR and determine which code  is  present. 14-2 Coolant   Temp   Sensor Check l Turn  ignition  off. l Disconnect  CTS  and  install a jumper between the CTS connector  sockets  A  and  B. l Turn  ignition  on. l Read  active  codes. 14-3 Oil  Temp  Sensor Check l Turn  ignition  off. l Disconnect  OTS  and  install jumper  between  OTS  connector sockets  A  and  B. l Turn  ignition  on. l Read  active  codes. 14-4 Check  for  Short  to +5  Volt  Line l Turn  ignition  off. l Remove  jumper  wire. l Disconnect  the  engine  harness connector  at  the  ECM. l Read  resistance  between  sockets P3 ( ckt #133) and W1 (ckt #416) on  the  engine  harness  connector. RESULT WHAT  TO  DO  NEXT PID  110  -  FMI  3 Go to  14-2. PID  175  -  FMI  3 Go to  14-3. Code  110/4  (or  any  codes except  Code  110/3). Go  to  14-4. Anything  except Code  110/4. Go  to  14-8. Code 175/4 (or any codes except  Code  175/4). Go  to  14-5. Anything   except Code  175/4. Go  to  14-9. Less  than  or  equal  to 10,000  ohms. Greater  than  10,000 ohms  or  open. Signal line (ckt #133) is shorted to the engine +5 volt line (ckt #416),  and/or  (ckt  #133)  signal line  is  shorted  to  ground  and/or sensor  return  (ckt  #452).  Repair short.  Then  go  to  14-30. Go  to  14-6. H-121
