TM9-2320-360-20-3 Section 4 TROUBLESHOOTING CHARTS D.  CHART  -10 -  VARIABLE  SPEED  GOVERNOR  (VSG  OR  PTO  HIGH  IDLE)  INOPERATIVE NOTE - This chart is only to be used if: 1)  All  basic  mechanical  checks  and  physical  inspections  have  been  performed  with  no  problem  found,  and 2) Diagnosis of DDEC-III was started at step START-1, pg H-25 and you have now been referred here. STEP/SEQUENCE C  10-1  through  C  10-4  (Deleted) C  10-5 Check   Throttle Position   Sensor l Turn  ignition  on. l Plug DDR into DDL connector. l Engine  at  no  throttle l Read TPS PCT using  DDR. C 10-6 Check If ECM Is Reading  VSG  Speed l Start  engine  (TM  9-2320-360-10). l Position  transmission  range selector  to  N  (neutral). l Select the PTO RPM on the DDR  reader. l Position left ENGINE SPEED CONTROL switch to HIGH ENGINE IDLE and press PUSH TO LOCK ENGINE @ HIGH IDLE switch.  Note  reading  on  DDR. l Shut  off  engine (TM9-2320-360-10). C  10-7 Verify   Complaint l Start   engine   (TM9-2320-360-10) and run at idle. l Using the DDR reader, make sure that  TPS  PCT  is  0. l Position left ENGINE SPEED CONTROL switch to HIGH ENGINE IDLE and press PUSH TO LOCK ENGINE @ HIGH IDLE switch.  Note  reading  on  DDR  and tachograph. At   0%   throttle. Greater than 0% throttle. DDR  display changes   smoothly from  idle  (typically 600  RPM)  to high  idle  speed (1500  RPM). D D R    d o e s    n o t change  at  all  or  does not  change  smoothly. RPM   Is   increasing. RPM  does  not  increase. WHAT  TO  DO  NEXT Go to C 10-6. Check  throttle  position  sensor adjustment.  Go  to  21-4 (page  H-139). Go to C 10-7. Go to C 10-9. Problem no longer exists. Go to C 1-2 for more information (page H - 4 1 ). Go to C 10-8. H-95
