MALFUNCTION
TEST OR INSPECTION
CORRECTIVE ACTION
ENGINE CRANKS BUT FAILS TO START
Step 1. Check fuel level on fuel gage (1) and in fuel tanks (2) and (3).
If fuel level is low fill with diesel fuel oil (see page 3-47).
Step 2. Check color on air cleaner restriction indicator (4).
If restriction indicator on left side of engine shows red instead
of green, notify Organizational Maintenance.
Step 3. Check ether starting aid QUICK START control (5) operating procedure
if outside temperature is below 40°F (4°C) (See page 2-68) and attempt
to start using QUICK START.
