Inspect cylinder head (3) for cracks in valve

head if cracked.
10. Measure cylinder head (3) height, warpage,
and water jacket thickness as shown. Check
warpage and height at 2-in. intervals.

11. If cylinder head (3) shows warpage or gasket
s u r f a c e shows pit marks or pin holes,
machine cylinder head gasket surface.
12. Inspect valve seat counterbores (4) for pitting,
cracks, bums, warpage, and blow-by on valve
contact face. If any of these conditions exist,
tag cylinder head for repair.
