STARTER BRUSHES REPLACEMENT (CONT)
USING feeler GAGE. MEASURE GAP between shim(s) (11 ) and end bell (7). Measurement MUST be

0.002-0.016 in. (0.05-0.4 mm). If measurement is NOT corrected, ADD or REMOVE SHIM(S) to achieve
correct measurement.
10. INSTALL new gasket (13), end BELL (14), and two new screws (15) on end bell (7).
NOTE
Follow-on Maintenance:
Install starter (TM 5-2420-224-20).
