TYPICAL DC MEASUREMENT
1.
Set rnultirneter to the correct scale. (See USING THE DC VOLTS SCALE, page 3-8).
CAUTION
The multimeter must be set to a voltage range higher than that being
m e a s u r e d or multimeter could be damaged.
2.
Connect red probe to positive (+) side of circuit and black probe to negative (-) side. Example shows
24 volts DC being measured across batteries.
3.
Read multimeter. (The following examples show how to read all three multimeters.) If needle moves off
scale to left, reverse probes on circuit.
