Look at matchmarks on tube (5) and
socket (2) to ensure proper placement.

Using 1/2 to 1 1/2-inch adjustable pipe
wrench, screw in by counterclockwise
until same number of threads is showing
and in same relative position as noted
during disassembly.
c.
Lubricate with grease
(LO 5-2420-222-12).

Using 3-pound cross-peen head
hammer, tap on.

Using multiple tongue and groove slip-
joint pliers, bend closed.

Numbers 235786 thru 235999, screw
and nuts (9)
together and tighten using 11/16-inch,
1/2-inch drive socket, ratchet handle,
and 5/8-inch box wrench.

On loader backhoes with Serial
Numbers 319995 thru 342573, screw
together and tighten using 3/4-inch,
1/2-inch drive socket, ratchet handle,
and 3/4-inch box wrench.

Place in position.

Take tube (5) with assembled parts
sockets (2 and 3) out of machinist’s vise.
