WARNING
Solvent cleaning compound MIL-PRF-680 Type III is an environmentally compliant and low toxic mate-
rial. However, it may be irritating to the eyes and skin. Use protective gloves and goggles. Use in well-venti-
lated areas. Keep away from open flames and other sources of ignition.
4.
Clean strainer (3) and filter (4) in solvent cleaning

compound.
NOTE

Replace filter at the same interval winch
oil is changed (biennially).

Inspect strainer (3) and filter (4) for damage. Replace

if damaged.

Install strainer (3) and filter (4) in housing (5).
7.
Put clean oil on new O-ring (6) and install in housing
(5).
8.
Install cover (2) on housing (5) with four bolts (1).

REMOVAL
CAUTION
Plug hose to prevent dirt from entering winch.
1.
Remove four bolts (7) and washers (8) from two split flanges (9). Remove flanges and disconnect hose (10). Remove
and discard O-ring (11).
2.
Remove two bolts (12) and washers (13).
3.
Remove two nuts (14) and washers (15).
4.
Remove magnetic strainer assembly (16) and O-ring (17) from winch cover. Discard O-ring.
