MALFUNCTION
TEST OR INSPECTION

NOTE
5.
Starting Motor Inoperative.
If STE/ICE is available, perform TK Mode, NG50.
1.
Check circuit breakers.
Reset as necessary.
2.
Check solenoid operation.
1. If thump of starter solenoid
a. Place battery disconnect
energizing is heard, go to Step
switch to ON position.
b.
Turn start switch fully
clockwise and listen for
starter
solenoid
to
energize.
2. If thump of solenoid is not
heard, go to Malfunction 5,
Test 3.
b. Place battery disconnect
switch to OFF position.
1. If no continuity is indicated,
c. Check  continuity  of
repair the connection (WP
connector
between
starting
motor-to-
solenoid connector (WP
2. If continuity is indicated, go
to Step d.
d. Inspect and clean ground
If starter is still inoperative,
connections on back of
replace
starter,
go
to
starter and tighten nut.
Malfunction 5, Test 4.
3.
Test starter circuit source
voltage.
a. Place battery disconnect
switch in OFF position.
b. Place
to
appropriate voltage range
c. Connect
positive lead to "BAT"
terminal on solenoid and
negative lead to chassis
ground.
