f.  If a warranty dispute arises, immediately forward a prepared DA Form 2407 in accordance
with TM 38-750 and forward a duplicate copy to the below addresses:
Commander
Warranty Administration
US Army Tank-AutomotiveandCommand
AM General Corporation
ATTN: DRCPM-HT

2. When you (the Government) desire to make repairs, take the following actions.
a.  Under the provisions of Section I, Paragraph 3b, contact AM General Corporation via the
telephone, (219) 237-6372/6366/6374. Provide an accurate description of the problem and inform
AM General Corporation that the Government desires to make the repairs. Prepare a Memorandum for
Record (MFR) of your telephone conversation with AM General to include the date, time and the
name of the AM General representative contacted.
b. AM General will make every effort to provide telephonic instructions to you immediately;
however, for those exceptions which cannot be handled immediately, AM General will provide tele-
phonic instructions to you within five working days. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MAKE THE REPAIRS.
WAIT FOR INSTRUCTIONS FROM AM GENERAL.
c. If you agree with the recommendation, proceed with AM General's instructions. Prepare a DA
Form 2407 IAW TM 38-750 and a Labor/Parts Reimbursement Claim (See Figure 4) after work is completed
and submit a duplicate to Warranty Administration AM General, 701 West Chippewa Avenue, South Bend, IN
46680. Be sure to include your MILSTRIP document number, priority to DODAAC for part requested.
d. If you disagree with AM General's recommendation or if a dispute arises, prepare and forward a
DA Form 2407 in accordance with TM 38-750 to addresses listed in Section IV, Paragraph 1f.
e.  For each item obtained from AM General, follow the actions stated in Section IV, Para-
graph 1e to establish appropriate demand history on the items.
f.  In making your own repairs, you may be required to return the defective part(s) to AM
General per their instructions. If so, drain the defective part(s), if applicable, and tag with DA Form
2402, in accordance with TM 38-750. Clean, wrap and securely package the part(s) to prevent further
damage. This is important since AM General will examine the returned part(s) to determine if there is
a warranted defect. Return the part(s) with a duplicate copy of the prepared DA Form 2407 to:
Warranty Administration
AM General Corporation
408 Eckman Street, Dock 8-5
South Bend, IN 46680
AM General will bear the transportation cost of shipping the defective part(s) within CONUS. All
shipments will be via surface freight. It is equally important that the defective part(s) be adequately
protected while awaiting disposition instructions. For example, do not leave an engine in the open,
exposed to weather. Inadequate protection can jeopardize the Government's warranty claim. Placing
an engine on boards and covering it with canvas could provide simple but needed protection so that
AM General can readily inspect it to validate the claim. Do not dispose of the defective part(s) unless
specifically instructed to do so by AM General or TACOM. DO NOT RETURN THE DEFECTIVE
PART(S) TO AM GENERAL UNLESS SPECIFICALLY INSTRUCTED TO DO SO BY AM GEN-
ERAL.
